Google the phrase ‘get in shape’ and you will find over 3 million hits. That’s 3,000,000. Go ahead, Google it. We’ll wait.Oh good, you’re back. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Information Overload!” How can one possibly be able to take in all that information? How can one sort through it and find what is relevant and what is gibberish?
Well, we here at Fitness Together Capitol Hill have put together a short list of things that you can focus on to help you answer that nagging question: “How do I get back in shape?”
Step 1: Commit
If you are sick and tired of being overweight and out of shape, tired of being winded when you take the stairs, tired of the back pain you get from everyday life and you are willing to sacrifice a few hours a week and a couple of snack foods, then it’s time that you commit to a fitness and nutrition program.
Step 2: Remember the Turtle
That’s right, the turtle. Slow and steady wins the race! If you are ready to get back in shape, you can’t simply go out and run a marathon and expect everything to feel healthy, in fact, if you did that you’d probably feel awful! It starts with little baby steps. Start with two workouts per week, work up to five.

Step 3: More Food!
Wait, what? That’s right, MORE food. Mind you, not more calories, not more soda and candy, rather more wholesome natural FOOD. Fruits, vegetables, lean meat. Get these things into your diet immediately and eat them more often! In addition to eating real food more, eat meals more often, 4-5 per day spaced evenly throughout the day.

Water helps to boost your metabolism, greases your joints, is a calorie-free belly filler and basically keeps everything in your body running smoothly!
