Get some Sun!

A deficiency in vitamin D could result in bone pain and decreased muscular strength. Without sufficient vitamin D, bones can become thin, brittle, or misshapen. But together with calcium, vitamin D helps to protect adults from osteoporosis later in life.

How do you get more vitamin D?
Well, there is the vitamin D fortified milk route and the vitamin D supplement route, but why not go all natural! When ultraviolet rays from sunlight hit your skin, they produce a vitamin D synthesis. Just shy of 30 minutes in the sun can get you nearly five times your daily dose of vitamin D (don’t worry, extra won’t hurt you). Walk to work one day (assuming you don’t have to be at work before the sun comes up), get out of the building for lunch and don’t just curl up in the air conditioning on the weekends, get out and soak up that sun! If you really truly just can’t make it out of a hectic schedule, then make sure that you load up on foods like salmon, tuna, milk, yogurt and eggs. While these foods are nowhere near as effective as the sun, they will do the trick with your busy schedule or on days in the winter when the sun simply refuses to shine.
